On Thursday my brother and I went to Comic-Con, San Diego's largest and hottest event for comic, anime, and movie lovers. I was feeling rather good about events as last year was perfect with very few people running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
To begin our day, my brother and I left our house about the same time as last year and performed our usual tradition of riding trolley down to the transfer station and walking the rest of the way. a sad thing I noticed while we rode the trolley was that there were no cosplayers in our car, which took all the fun out of trying to name the character, movie, anime, and comic they were from.
We registered and after getting turned around, my brother and I began looking for an item a friend of my mother had requested, the yellow and orange green lanterns of the blackest night series. After going up stairs and down and clear across the building, we could not find where to buy the tickets to claim the yellow lantern and so we would have to write off the figure.
After all that, my brother and I decided to check out the Rooster Teeth booth, discovering the artists and authors of the online comic Looking For A Group was next door. We bought a shirt from each booth (My brother got a L.F.A.G shirt and I got a R.T shirt), but I was scared off from buying a Frog King plushie after learning his back story (for those who know the story, that is not meant to be a innuendo).
After we were done with the web comics, we walked over to the film and video game side, and we both felt excitement over some neat sounding games and movies; such as, Saw VI, Final Fantasy XIII, and Dissidia: Final Fantasy.
However, our excitement soon died once we saw the constantly playing trailer for New Moon: Twilight. Now Im not going to say that it wont be enjoyable for some, but I cant say that Im am overly impressed by the trailer but I guess I can understand that the author and director are trying to make it kin to Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet.
Sadly because of all the rude people in the crowds, my brother and I ended up getting so turned around that we missed the World of Warcraft panel but now that I think about it, it could have been for the best. Neither my brother nor I are collectors of World of Warcraft cards or apparel so we probably would have ended up feeling out of place (and I doubt they gave free samples after all, lol).
The last thing we did before leaving was again look for Escapists shirts and the geisha doll our mother had asked for, but once again we had no success we decided to call it a day around 1pm.
^__^ Anyway, sorry my review of comic-con is so late, my brother and I very busy as of late but I hope you all have a nice day like I did. Ciao.
